Our Story
Great things take time to build.
Artsopolis began in 2001 as a group of arts-loving tech nerds in the Bay Area. Over twenty years later, we're a network of 60+ communities across North America — all working together to connect people with the arts.
Our mission: to connect communities through innovative technology, collaborative action, and compelling promotion of arts and culture.

2001 — ARTSOPOLIS is Born
A group of arts-loving tech nerds releases the first calendar prototype for the Bay Area community.

2003 — Joins Silicon Valley Arts Council
Artsopolis.com officially launches as a program of Arts Council Silicon Valley, serving the South Bay region.

2004 — Discovers a nationwide need
First network license agreement signed. Arts organizations across the US and Canada need what we've built.

2015 — The Network flourishes
Fifty communities working together across the United States. Collective digital reach no member could achieve alone.

2017 — Steps out on its own
The team splits from Arts Council Silicon Valley and relocates to Seattle to focus on expanding the Network.
