    Description: The Santa Clara Chorale Business Manager:

    The ideal Business Manager candidate is a self starter who enjoys working as a member of a team. Needs to be a pro-active worker who is able to prioritize action items and handle projects from conception to completion with little supervision. This part time, flexible hours position necessitates 5 to 10 hours of work per week. Requires a strong administrative background, a home work space and computer, skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, and email and internet savvy. Interests in the arts and/or the Nonprofit sector a plus.

    Sample Duties to Include:

    Reserve and arrange for all rehearsal, meeting and performance venues
    Create concert and rehearsal calendar
    Reserve equipment needed for concerts (risers, lights, etc)
    Consult with music director about hiring instrumentalists and quest artists
    Prepare and receive contracts for guest artists, instrumentalists, collaborators, accompanists, etc
    Write weekly newsletter (NewsNotes) to singers and board
    Create and maintain forms (ticket, membership, audition, etc) on www.sporg.com
    Work with mailing list manger to maintain mailing list (regular post and e-mail)
    Develop an ongoing relationship with arts peers in the community
    Represent the Chorale at community functions
    Arrange timely payment of music orders, performers (soloists, instrumentalists), crew, performance and rehearsal venues, equipment rental, etc
    Prepare invoices and supervise payment from program advertisers
    Work with treasurer and ticket manager to prepare concert reports for the City of Santa Clara and report on the concert at the City’s Arts Commission meetings
    Prepare written reports for presentation to the operations committee
    Offer prompt and thoughtful responses to requests for information
    Coordinate and execute the flyer distribution for each concert
    Maintain up to date donor spreadsheet for Fundraising committee
    Handle organization, scheduling, and implementation of annual audition process
    Work as a team with other members on the administrative staff
    Promote and participate in open lines of communication with Board, Staff and Volunteers
