Cupertino High School is looking for a technical theatre director to assist the drama and music departments for next year. This is a part time position, compensation to be determined. JOB DESCRIPTION

Design and build sets for theatre department. Supervise, procure and install sound equipment for shows. Design, hang and focus lights for band and choir concerts. Assist with general technical support for theatrical technology Recruit, train, and supervise student technicians. Assist in development of curriculum materials in the area of theatrical design and technology. Assist with performance assessment of student technicians and designers.

Maintain set construction materials, tools, paint, lighting, and sound equipment in good working order. Communicate with theatre program director and music teachers regarding scheduling and equipment needs

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Willingness and availability to work long hours during production week.

Be able to lift heavy equipment, sets, and lighting gear Comfort with heights A proactive, team-oriented approach to problem solving Organized, with ability to adhere to deadlines Well-connected, able to work well with other schools and nonprofit groups to borrow equipment, set pieces, etcetera Willingness to serve as a positive role model for youth, maintaining appropriate professional relationships while building team dynamics among young technicians, comfortable teaching handson skills and enforcing safety rules.

Self- directed, able to take initiative and make decisions independently Complete CPR, fingerprinting, and TB tests as mandated by district
