Add Review/CommentBLUE began as a one-day project for a benefit concert in La Honda California, on 9/11/05. When the musicians took the stage for the first time together in public, something magical happened. For the next two years, the band performed at public and private events, concerts, and clubs all over the bay area and is continuing to craft a unique musical style. BLUE’s repertoire of original music, classic rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and calypso is a delight to the senses. Their songs feature vocals by individual members, as well as three and four part harmony. Cliff and Ed are masters of their instruments, and take soaring leads, alone, or in unison. Dave and Geoff complete the band as a driving rhythm section. The band has a loyal following that continues to grow and is at home entertaining a small intimate gathering, or 30,000 screaming fans.
Brother Buzz was born when drummer Roy McKinney and guitarist John Hall were introduced to each other by a mutual friend in the late 1980's. Brother Buzz has been packing dance floors ever since. Guitarist Bob Noto joined up in 1990 and bassist Tom McManus in 2004. Each member is a mutli-decade veteran of the Bay Area music scene with experience ranging from rock to funk to punk to worship music. The band consistently gets high marks for energy, enthusiasm, and for being just plain fun. Tight but not too tight, they lay down the best of America's roots music, rock'n' roll, R&B, blues, and funk. The common element is "Ya gotta dance to it!" With multiple, versatile soloists and vocalists Brother Buzz rocks with variety as well as fire and enthusiasm. Put on your dancin' shoes, Brother Buzz is in town!
Robin Campbell, a singer with flaming red hair from Half Moon Bay is best known locally for belting out sultry blues, dirty funk, originals and high energy rock favorites in local restaurants and clubs. She's been voted the coast's favorite by Coast Views Magazine, and has enjoyed performing in everything from a major commercial, the Giants game, to local favorite celebrations, such as the Pumpkin Festival in Half Moon Bay. The band - Montara resident Jeremy Foster on bass and El Granada residents Pete Amour on drums and Chris Cotruvo on guitar and vocals - has been together for six years. Expect to hear some Janis Joplin, Cold Blood, Led Zeppelin and Jamiroquai along with funky originals all in the same set.
