Year after year, this display of fireworks never fails to impress. Suggestion: bike over rather than drive if you're there just to witness the fireworks and not attend the show. Bring plenty of warm clothes and a blanket to lay on the grass knolls behind the Amphitheatre. One caveat: the fireworks display can start as late as 9:45PM depending on when the S.F. Symphony wraps up its presentation. Collapse

These are the same guys who cold-call your house claiming to represent local police, or local firefighters etc. I wonder how much of their gross take actually goes to the organizations they claim to represent. Amusingly, they cold-call numbers that aren't even in the area where those organizations operate. Collapse

I attended Grease last weekend and enjoyed it. Who doesn't love Grease although I was disappointed to have not heard "Your the One that I want". This is a Grease classic. The best character up there was Rizzo. The girl who played this role did an outstanding performance and man what vocals!! Rizzo and Kenickie kept the show going and anytime they were on stage I couldnt stop watching them (of course in the car- WOW!). The energy at the school dance was contageous and made me want to get up and dance. Sandy and Danny were very hard to hear over the music at times and I did not like some of their acting. It was hard to get into their scenes and believe it. Plus I expected Sandy's final scene to be much more over the top. She looked normal. The pink ladies were all very appropriately cast and enjoyable as well as the boys. Took me back to my days in high school... very very long ago. Overall good effort by WVLO and I reccomend this show to anyone. Collapse

This show was a great rendition of the classic "Grease". All the characters were hillarious especially the classic nerd Eugene. I'd never seen the musical before, and enjoyed the Pink Ladies being featured more than in the movie. Although at times the music overshadowed the singing, each number just kept getting better and better. The other characters overshadowed Danny and Sandy, which actually worked to the advantage of the show. Each character had something unique to offer. The choreography was interesting, but my absolute favorite dance number was the school dance. My favorite numbers were the fabulous "There are worst things I could do", "Summer Nights" and "Freddy, My Love". The value for students is great. If you show up 20 minutes before a show, and there are tickets left, you can get them for half price with a valid student i.d. All in all it's a great show and i'm actually going to see it again! This is one of the best shows I have seen in years. The writing is outstanding and the direction and acting are spot on. You will be moved by this play. Don't miss it.

A sophisticated comedy sprinkled with Steve Martin's zane, staged quite well! A comedy that actually gets lots of laughs instead of just thinking it should. In this cast with no weak links, naming standouts is almost unfair. But traditionally it's okay, so standouts include Ross Harkness (Gaston), Lucinda Dobinson (Germaine), Jason Salazar (Sagot), and Rebecca Wallace in triplicate. Angie Higgins deftly directs a lighter take on the brilliant Martin script, and ensures enough depth and tone that can make you think and tug on a dramatic string or two... If you want to let it. But you can just sit there and laugh. Alot. Easily the best that this patron has seen at Northside, and one of the best in the area this year. Collapse

Be you an art lover, a cat lover, or just looking for something for your family to do on a Saturday Night, I have first hand knowledge with this group and this event and it promises to be a really great night. Affordable and family friendly this event is unlike a lot of gala fundriasers in that it embraces the whole family and provides unique auction items, useful and fun, as well as just a great opportunity for artists (visual & performing alike) to show off their work in the name of a GREAT cause. Maine Coon Adoptions saves hundreds of cats (And NOT just Maine Coon Mixes) each year and is entirely volunteer based. Do your heart a favor and come be a part of this event! Collapse

This is a production for those who dare to have humor and for those that want to be entertained. Not one second went by where I lost my attention to the cast. Each actor allowed him/herself to fall into character. The pace was perfect and all facets that make theatre top notch was there. From the directing, to the costume, to the lighting to the organization--I dont think I have seen a better play in years. Collapse
